Car Powered USB Adapters Review: Griffin v. HTC v. Phillips

With smartphones getting more and more powerful, it's more than likely that they'll run out of power before the day is over.  One of the solutions to that problem is a car powered USB adapter. Griffin makes some of the best accessories and they do make some of the best car adapters as well.  The Griffin Power Jolt Dual Universal micro goes up against its big brother, the Power Jolt Dual Universal, a Phillips Power2Charge adapter, and one from HTC.  All four car adapters performed admirably.  There wasn't one that stands out better than another one performance wise.  The only difference is the look of the adapter and where the user plans to plug it in.  The Power Jolt Dual Universal micro is the smallest, but isn't necessarily the best pick.  While the small size makes it convenient in any location, it's small size makes it hard to remove unless the user has long nails or uses something to pry it out.  The HTC is slender and has a unique design, but because of its width, it's not suitable for any location.  The Phillips car adapter is the only one of the four that only has one USB port.   There really isn't one that is better than the other.  So really the winner of this comparison is the brand that you trust, the look of the adapter, and exactly where you plan to use it.
